PhD position
The research project Cryptography on Non-Trusted Machines (CNTM) within the Department of Computer Science of the University of Rome La Sapienza has a vacancy for a PhD student (3 years). The candidate is expected to hold a Master's degree in computer science, mathematics or a closely related field. Background in cryptology or information theory is a plus, but not a pre-requisite. Anybody who may be interested in applying for this position is welcome to contact the principal investigator of the CNTM project (www.dziembowski.net/CNTM/contact.html). Deadline The official deadline for this application is 28.07.08. However, since some issues need to be discussed in advance, please contact us as soon as possible, and no later than on 22.07.08. Information about the project The goal of the CNTM project is to design cryptographic schemes that are secure even if implemented on not-secure devices. The project is founded by a Starting Independent Researcher Grant Program from the European Research Council (ERC). CNTM is one of 17 projects in computer science that received funding in the program (out of over 600 applications), and it is the only project in computer science that is hosted by an Italian institution. More information is available at the web-page: www.dziembowski.net/CNTM. Since the project is founded externally, the salary of the PhD student will be substantially higher than the standard salary of an Italian PhD student. |
